Where and when does The BIM Challenge 2027 take place?

The event takes place in Constanța, Romania, between 23–28 August 2027. The exact venue and the full program will be shared with registered participants.

Students: 23–28 August 2027 (Monday to Saturday).
Students with accommodation check in on Sunday, 22 August, from 12:00 and check out on Sunday, 29 August.
Professionals: 27–28 August 2027 (the two conference days).

How can I travel to Constanța?

Participants arrange their own travel. Coming from abroad? Here's the easiest route:

Fly to Bucharest

Land at Henri Coandă International Airport (Otopeni).
Train to Bucharest North Railway Station

What accommodation options are available for students?

Students can choose between two participation options:

With accommodation: includes accommodation in a student dormitory in Constanța for the duration of the event.
Without accommodation: suitable for participants living in Constanța or those who prefer to arrange their own accommodation.

Is there a participation fee?

Yes. Fees depend on your participation option (student with or without accommodation, or professional). Full details will be published when registrations open.

Students can also take part for free by earning a scholarship. Scholarships are offered by our partners and professional associations to the top students from our courses. Details will be announced soon.

Do professionals need to attend the whole week?

No. The first four days are dedicated to the student workshop. Professionals join us for the two-day conference on 27–28 August, where they can also watch the students present their projects.

What language will the event be conducted in?

The official language of the event is English. Students need conversational English to work in international teams.

Do I need prior experience with ALLPLAN?

Students: yes, basic ALLPLAN knowledge is required. You don't need to be an expert, but the workshop is an intense week of work on a real project, so we cannot accept participants with no ALLPLAN experience.
Professionals: no. Experience with ALLBIM NET solutions is not required. The conference focuses on OpenBIM and international standards.
